Chocolate Museum (Museu de la Xocolata)

Chocolate Museum - for true lovers of chocolate | Gimme Some Barcelona Travel Guide

Chocolate Museum (Museu de la Xocolata)

What It Is:

A museum following the history of cacao and its arrival to Europe via Barcelona, along with current chocolate-inspired creations and a chocolate shop — you know — to do your own personal research. ;)

Where It’s Located:

El Born | Google Map

Why We Love It:

We love museums and chocolate.

Museum Recommendations:

  • There are three short audio-visual presentations within the museum that take viewers through centuries of civilizations made better with chocolate…and they’re worth the watch. Just press your language on the button before walking in.
  • Some say that this chocolate museum is simply a chocolate shop with a prologue. Others say they enjoyed learning about the history of the cacao bean and its impact on Barcelona and the rest of the world. We report, you decide :)

Other Tips:

  • If you tell them what country you’re from, they will give you your very own chocolate bar with your country’s flag on it. The chocolate bar also doubles as the ticket. Clever.
