Rabbit Hole
2010. Directed by John Cameron Mitchell, written by David Lindsay-Abaire (based on his Pulitzer-winning play), and starring Nicole Kidman and Aaron Eckhart.
Nicole Kidman was nominated for an Oscar for her performance as a grief-stricken mother in this well-received film. Good reviews made me queue this indie exploration of how one couple deals with loss.

My cue this weekend has The Help. I read the book just after moving to Brmingham, which was kinda crazy in and of itself. Reading it, after having just moved as a part of an interracial couple to the deep south where little girls were famously killed by the KKK at a baptist church was even more alarming. The book was amazing. Amazing we were there once, amazing how far we’ve come and how far we’ve yet to go. And the writing was beautifully frank. I’m looking forward to seeing the film.
Hubby’s working so I get to indulge in the sappy dramas of which he’s not a fan. :)

Well, I thought it was a good adaptation of the book. Rarely do movies stand on an equal footing with the books they’re made from, I think that’s because our minds make the best kind of movie for each of us. But, altogether I think the movie stood, mainly based on the fantastic acting of Viola Davis. She was the best part of the movie, in my opinion.
