Things That I Do Not Dunk: Basketballs.
I dated basketball players in high school and college. ;) And stood on the sidelines and rocked it out on dance team and cheered them on. But I was never coordinated enough to shoot a free throw to save my life. Me and any sport that includes balls flying through the air do not mix.
Things That I DO Dunk: Chips in salsa. Apples in peanut butter. Pretzels in cheese. Cookies in milk. And of course, these perfectly grilled sweet potato fries in ketchup or whatever other sauce is nearby.
One just might say they’re a slam dunk of a recipe. ;)
I actually made these this summer for a post with ALDI about grilling healthy side dishes. So often, it seems that people tend to grill only their main dishes. But there are so many great sides, apps, and desserts that you can also throw on the grill as well.
These sweet potato fries (or wedges, whatever you’d like to call them) are a great example.
They are healthier, made with simple ingredients and good-for-you sweet potatoes that are grilled instead of fried. They are simple to make, as you just parboil them inside and then finish them on the grill outside. And they are that perfect mix of sweet and salty, and they’re as good as any sweet potato fry I know.
