For all of you milk fans out there, I have a fun new recipe for you….blueberry milk!

That’s right. Not strawberry milk. Not chocolate milk. And it’s definitely not made from some processed syrup from the store. This is homemade, natural, healthy, feel-good-serving-to-your-kids blueberry milk! Whoo!

Although of course, it turned out a little more lavender than blue. Hmmm…. :)

All you need to do is whip up the blueberry syrup, and then you can refrigerate it or serve it right away with your favorite kind of milk. Super simple, and totally fresh and delicious. Cheers!

Hi, wondering how long this lasts in the fridge.

Finally made this today using a frozen berry mix. It’s quite delicious, but I’m confused by the yield amounts and the addition of milk into the list of ingredients.

I made it exactly as is, except cut the sugar to 1/8 cup. The yield says “8 cups.” I’m assuming that means the amount of syrup you end up with will make 8 1-cup servings with the milk?

Or a bit more because of using 1/4 cup syrup and a full cup milk? So, about 2 cups is the amount of syrup total?

Just FYI though, I ended up with nowhere NEAR that much. More like half-3/4 cup. Wondering if I reduced it too much or what.

What is the total yield amount of just the syrup? Otherwise, very tasty! Thank you!

Just tried it and it’s delicious! I used to get blueberry milk at H-E-B when I was little but they stopped selling it :c so I’m so happy for this recipe! It’s not exactly how I remember but it’s still delicious!

Well, not a new idea to mix blueberries and milk. This “recipe” is hundreds of years old in Nordic countries. Quite traditional summer treat that every kid has eaten. Except no syrup is added nor milk does get boiled. You just add some fresh blueberries into bowl of milk and eat. Adding both sugar and syrup makes it too sugary, IMHO. Or, you can just put your frozen blueberries into cold milk, which makes it more like a milky slush. Try sprinkling some cinnamon on top.

Iam not trying to be rude or anything but are you sure you’re reading this properly? No where does it say to boil milk and sure it may be hundreds of years old somewhere but I personally have never heard of this and Iam extremely happy this person decided to post it. Honestly putting plain blueberries into a bowl of milk isnt the same thing as this either, it sounds almost gross to do it that way, that isnt blueberry milk. This is actually a nice blend of both, a smooth texture as apposed to crunching on whole blueberries floating in milk.

Not wanting to insult but where do you get these ideas. I would’ve never thought about blueberry milk…I love blueberries. Its a must try. But yes is this ideas that just come to you, family recipes, etc.
Keep posting what you post, you have my attention. Likin’ the website also. :)

My son likes mixing nestle quick into his milk and watching it dissolve into his milk. Just wondering how to get your recipe into a powder form – which would be healthier; he would love the blue color; and we could also transport easier on road-trips.

    1. Kryss says:

I bet some dehydrated blueberries pulverized with some baker’s sugar (and a tiny pinch of salt) in a blender would do the trick.

  10. Erin says:

I made some this today. I put some in my milk (which was delicious) and the rest on some cinnamon french toast, which was even more delicious. Great recipe!
