I have to be honest. Most of the smoothies happening in my kitchen over the past few years are all green. (Or if berries are involved, a not-so-appetizing color of brown.)  I’ve just gotten in the habit of blending up whatever fresh ingredients are on hand and then tossing in a handful of spinach or kale, since it’s such an easy way to eat my greens.

BUT.

You all know me and color. In that, I’m kind of obsessed with pretty colors. And as much as I may love green smoothies, every now and then I wake up just wanting to eat something that’s bright and cheery and sunshiny and, well, not green.

Enter this smoothie.

This very orange (also very good for you) Carrot Pineapple Smoothie.

Yep. I’ll be honest that I created this recipe entirely based on color. Well, and the ingredients that I had on hand, which happened to be baby carrots (a favorite snack), orange juice (always), bananas (my staple for thickening smoothies), and the big ol’ fresh pineapple that I buy at least weekly at ALDI.

Are you sensing my color scheme? :)

So I tossed them in the blender…

…and a few minutes later…

…it was a vivid, non-green success!

Ok, ok, in addition to being quite lovely, it was actually completely refreshing and tasty. I happen to love the taste of carrots in smoothies, and they tasted all the sweeter when paired with the other fruits and OJ. This smoothie is also packed with vitamins A and C and potassium and all sorts of other good stuff. So you can sip down the sweetness knowing that it will bring all sorts of energy and good stuff to your day ahead. If you really want, you could also throw a handful of spinach in there to make it a green smoothie. But I’ll save that for another day.

I’m sharing the recipe for this Carrot Pineapple Smoothie today over on that blog that is the home of my favorite pineapple — ALDI! Click here for the recipe.

May your day be filled with sunshine and roses and…smoothies. :)

This is a sponsored post in partnership with ALDI. I am developing all sorts of tasty recipes with them this year, and am sharing them here with you. Thanks for supporting the brands which help make this site possible!

  16. What a beautiful, sunny smoothie! We love the pineapples from Aldi too and I know that this smoothie will be a big hit here… The colors in the blender shot remind me of candy corn! But without all the sugar…

  17. The very sight of this smoothie cheers me up :-)

Love how you’ve color-coordinated the tiny details, including the straw.

  18. Question what would anyone suggest to replace orange juice.  Due to autoimmune diet, I’m already pushed to the limit with citrus with the handful of pinneapple.  Would gala apple juice or pear juice work or would it be better to use almond milk?

  19. I am new at making smoothies…..unfortunately all mine have to be any color but green. The sound of this and the picture just grabbed me and said here I am, your all time favorite smoothie. Sounds dumb doesn’t it??  I have tried literally hundreds of recipes, some I like, a lot I didn’t. I’m picky, LOL. But this, wow, sounds too good to be true. All the ingredients I love. Thank You for sharing this. I am on my way into the kitchen to make me some now.

    • That doesn’t sound dumb at all! We hope you enjoy this one as much as we do! :)

  20. I found I’m not very keen on the texture of smoothies, so i put these indgredients through my mascerating juicer. Got the most beautiful almost transparent juice. So good had to make it twice… Thank you. Kiku

    • We’re so glad you enjoyed this Kiku, and that you were able to make a juice out of it! :)

  21. Can you put the baby carrots straight into the blender? I’m worried my blender won’t get those into a smoothie consistency…

    • Hi Caitlin! We think it probably depends on the type of blender you have. Just to be on the safe side, why don’t you chop them up a bit before you put them in? We hope that helps, and that you enjoy the smoothie! :)

  22. I was looking for a great carrot smoothie recipe to try for the first time and came across this one. Let me say I abosolutely love it. I used  mango orange juice instead of normal OJ. It gave this smoothie an astonishing taste. I would say more of a tropical twist. I also used frozen ingredients, except the OJ of course and didn’t need ice. This is a must try!!! I’m sure you’ll love it just as I did!

    • Thanks for your sweet comment Raquel! We’re so happy you enjoyed this and we think the mango orange juice sounds super yummy! :)

  23. What are those white cubes ?

  24. I’m with you on the Aldi thing as far as pineapples; I’ve not yet found it cheaper anywhere else! ;-)
