Weekly Wear: The Northwest Stole My Heart

Hello friends! Let me introduce myself again in case you have forgotten me…. ;) I’m sure you all thought I fell off the face of the earth. As Ali had mentioned in this post, Tanner and I spent a couple weeks exploring the great northwest. Let me tell you all, that place sneaks down into the deepest places of your heart. Before we left on our trip we were told by multiple sources that once you make it out west you may never want to leave. I wasn’t completely sold on those tales. Being a sun-loving, fair weather fan I didn’t have the highest expectations for this region of the United States. I mean, let’s be honest–I basically thought our entire trip would consist of sitting under an umbrella wishing I was in Mexico. But after being home for the past few weeks I find myself day-dreaming about that beautiful coast line. And you know what? It didn’t even rain once while we were there!

And since I can’t help but gush on and on about this place, here are a few snapshots from our trip. And when I say a few I mean a LOT. I tried to narrow it down a bit, but that stinkin’ ocean is just too beautiful to keep to myself. Besides, I like to think that the reason we take so many photos is to share our passion for beauty with others. This man….he’s my favorite thing on the planet. 

While walking along the side of the road at Cannon beach we found the prettiest wild berries. I couldn’t help but snap a few photos.

There is something about the ocean that just feels like home to me. Maybe it is the salty breeze that easily wraps around me while I casually dip my toes into the water. Or possibly it is the sound of the waves crashing into the land while I walk with Tanner laughing about the day. Or maybe just a combination of all those things. Whatever it is, I can’t help but hope that at some point in my life time, the ocean and I will be friendly neighbors.

I may or may not have had s’mores in bed provided by my sweet guy. Which definitely is in the running for the best possible breakfast ever.

Truth: We really needed a shower. 2nd Truth: We didn’t actually get one for another 24 hours from when these two photos were taken. True camping style ;)
