  • Total Time: 1 hour
  • Yield: 8 to 12 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons white granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons honey, slightly warmed
  • 1 (12-ounce) bottle beer
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Prep oven and pan. Preheat the oven to 350°F.  Grease a bread pan.
  2. Mix the dough. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and garlic powder. Gently stir the beer and honey into the dry ingredients until just combined, then stir in the shredded cheddar until just combined. (Be careful not to over mix the dough.) Transfer the dough to the pan and spread it out evenly with a spoon.
  3. Bake. Bake for 40 minutes. Remove the pan and brush the melted butter on top of the bread. Return to the oven and bake for 10-15 more minutes, until the top is golden brown and a toothpick/knife inserted in the middle comes out clean. Let cool for at least 5 minutes.
  4. Serve. Serve warm and enjoy!
