
Oh my goodness, it feels so good to be home.
My time in Europe these past few weeks was such a gift, and filled to the brim with so many wonderful memories with friends. But between the six-course meals each night on the Mediterranean cruise, paella in Spain, and pub food galore with friends all over England, I think it’s safe to say that I probably ate more carbs (and specifically, potatoes!) in the past month than ever before!
So upon returning home, my friend Sarah and I thought it would be fun to try going “raw” for a week. Nothing cooked, no caffeine, no alcohol — just straight raw ingredients, which mostly includes fresh produce and nuts. I will post a summary of how it went at the end of this week, and then I’m also planning to share some of the recipes next week.
However, the first “detox” smoothie that I made yesterday was too good not to share right away! I love green smoothies, but this one may be one of my new favorites. It is sweet and simple, but packed with all sorts of healthy goodness that I loved. No arm-twisting necessary to enjoy this green smoothie for a meal!

Green Detox Smoothie
- Prep Time: 5 minutes
- Total Time: 5 minutes
- Yield: 4-5 cups 1x
Description
A delicious and healthy green “detox” smoothie.
Ingredients
- 3 cups frozen diced pineapple
- 3 cups fresh baby spinach
- 1 cup frozen diced banana
- 1 celery rib (optional)
- 1 Tbsp. grated fresh ginger (start with less and add more if desired)
- 1 Tbsp. chia seeds
- juice from half a lime
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in a blender and pulse until smooth. Add a little water or juice if needed to help the blender blend.

I LOVE a good green smoothie! I always put spinach in mine and I’m particularly fond of almond butter and almond milk in there too. This one sounds delicious! Thanks for sharing!

I do not want to buy chia seeds but Flax Seeds by Bobs red mill should work as well right?
how is the detox process? am I supposed to eat only the smoothy for 3 days? how many times? please advise..thanks
Check out Dr. Oz 3 day detox. You may want to do that one but change the lunch drink (its nasty) to this drink.
Is that 1 serving? I just made it, and it is delicious, but it does make
