It’s Stitch Fix time again!

Clearly, I’m running about a week behind sharing my October “fix” in November. But hey, better late than never. :)

I’d say my October Stitch Fix was mildly successful. All of my clothes fit this time (yay!). But strangely, there were hardly any warm clothes in my box. I don’t know if they think Kansas City is farther south than it is, but in late October, it is chilly here. And I’m one of those people who is constantly cold, so it was a little hard to get on board with trying on tank tops and short-sleeved shirts.

That said, I actually only ended up keeping one of the five pieces again this time, and left a feedback note asking for some heavy winter clothes next round. But feel free to check my October “fix” out to see what you think!

And if you’re interested in signing up to receive a “fix” of your own, feel free to sign up with my referral link and let me know how it goes! :)

Paloma Striped Short Sleeve Cut-Out Top $58.00

As you can see, this black t-shirt is pretty boring from the front. The back was much more interesting, but again, I just couldn’t quite wrap my mind around a thin little t-shirt when it was freezing outside. And even if I were to layer over it in the winter, you still would never see the cute part of the design since it’s in the back, so I decided to pass. The material also seemed too thin for my taste (and the price) in a t-shirt. Didn’t feel like it would hold up that well…

Navy Rikka Henry Birds on a Branch Infinity Scarf — $28

Adorable scarf, but I already have way too many dark scarves.

Lydia Colorblock Crossfront Top — $88.00

I called this my Cruella DeVille top. ;)

I liked the idea of the black and white crossover design, but what you can’t see is that there is zero stitching between the black and white in front. It’s a total wrap top, and let’s just say that the v-neck would have gone down to nearly to my waistline if I hadn’t safety-pinned it together. Not quite sure how/where they expect people to wear this one, but it wasn’t for me. Nor was the price.

Tulle Candace Floral Print Tie-Neck Blouse – $58

I was on the fence with this one. It was definitely one I probably would never have picked off the hanger, but when I put it on, I actually really liked it. While it mostly fit, though, the waist felt a little too snug and the overall length of the shirt seemed a little shorter than I liked. Still, I’m definitely noting to try on more tops with prints — pretty fun!

Christia Fit & Flare Ponte Dress — $78.00

Ding ding ding! We have a winner! This was the dress I ended up purchasing this time around. When I pulled it out of the box, I was crossing my fingers that it would fit because:

  • the fabric was super thick and heavy (well-made and warm – yay!)
  • the skirt was flared (this girly girl loves a flared skirt)
  • I realized I don’t own anything else that color

Sure enough, it fit like a charm. I was in a hurry to snap these photos, so didn’t take time to accessorize. But I’ve since worn it with brown tights and a cute brown belt, and really loved it! Definitely a fun pieces to dress up or dress down. And did I mention it’s warm? :)

  1. I received the Candace floral print top in my October box too! I loved it so I kept it. Everything looks great on you but I can see how you loved the dress!

  5. I love the green dress you chose, Ali. Your smile is the brightest in that photo too!

  6. I love that green dress! The printed top is really pretty, too but I agree with you on the length. I

  7. That dress is so cute on you! I think the printed blouse looked great on you too.

  8. I just got my first fix from Stitch Fix. I was very disappointed. I’m sure that it’s only as good as the stylist who’s assigned to you. It’s middle of winter and I got all summer clothes! Nothing was less than $58 and it all looked like clothes from Target. I sent it all back so I lost my money. I’m on the fence about giving it another try. You look great in that green dress for sure!
