Thankful for Beauty

Today’s word is: BEAUTY
Beauty interrupts. Like all the best things — laughter, dreams, courage, friendship — beauty often surprises me and always provides a new way to see. I don’t appreciate the typical tone of the adage, “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder” — as if to say, “Only you could find that beautiful.” Rather, I pose that every day the possibility of beauty exists and anyone who seeks beauty, will find beauty — though it may not look as expected (beauty is mysterious, after all).
A man should hear a little music, read a little poetry, and see a fine picture every day of his life, in order that worldly cares may not obliterate the sense of the beautiful which God has implanted in the human soul.
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth find reserves of strength that will endure as long as life lasts. There is something infinitely healing in the repeated refrains of nature — the assurance that dawn comes after night, and spring after winter.
Rachel Carson
LOVE your blog!
And yes, I’ve been surprised by laughter being w/you the other night as you shared w/us your new outlet of your creativity :).
By beauty at the beautiful sunsets and sunrises, the last leaves on the trees as the sun hits them causing them to sparkle so valiantly in the wind.
By courage of families and friends going through the death of loved ones. One family who in loosing a long awaited baby girl has chosen to give her organs to 3 other children so they might live.
