Skinny Margarita

  • Prep Time: 5 minutes
  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: 1 serving 1x

Description

This skinny margarita recipe is lighter on calories, but bursting with fresh and delicious flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 ounces (3 tablespoons) tequila
  • 1 ounce (2 tablespoons) lime juice
  • 1 ounce (2 tablespoons) freshly-squeezed orange juice
  • optional sweetener: 1 to 2 teaspoons agave nectar
  • ice

Instructions

  1. Salt the rim (optional). Run a lime wedge (the juicy part) around the top rim of your serving glass. Fill a shallow bowl or plate with salt, then dip the rim until it is covered with your desired amount of salt. Set aside.
  2. Make the margarita mix. Add tequila, lime juice, orange juice, and a few ice cubes to a cocktail shaker. Shake or stir vigorously for about 10 seconds to chill. Give the mix a quick taste and stir in your desired amount of agave if you would like a sweeter drink.
  3. Serve. Fill the prepared serving glass with ice. Strain in the margarita mix, garnish with a lime slice, serve and enjoy. Cheers!

  2. I tried this over the weekend (maybe from an older post?) and I WAS lacking something! Splash of water sounds worth a try….also I had to make 2 servings and transport them so I think it also lacked the salt around the rim. Looking forward to trying them again!
