Many of you longtime followers know that I’m not a big believer in “recipes” when it comes to smoothies. My method of choice is always “a little of this, a little of that”, usually based on whatever fresh produce happens to be hanging around my house.

But a smoothie I made this week happened to be exceptionally tasty. So I decided to snap a quick pic and share it with you all.

It’s basically a simple pineapple smoothie, featuring some healthy Greek yogurt, banana, and my favorite smoothie ingredient — fresh ginger! All in all a delicious, light, and wonderfully fresh tasting citrus smoothie. Feel free to substitute in your favorite citrus fruits, but I happen to be partial to my beloved piña. So pineapple it is for me! Enjoy!!

We’re on very similar smoothie pages – I usually do the same “whatever’s here, plus Greek yogurt and a frozen banana” thing. Lately my absolute *favorite* has been pretty similar to the one above, but it’s pineapple with a couple handfuls of chopped cilantro…it. is. amazing.
(But I’m still gonna have to try it with the ginger, lol…sounds delish!)

I have had this pinned for ages and just tried it. Amazing! My whole family loved it. I made one substitution, instead of water or pineapple juice, I used Parrot Bay coconut rum. :-) It was a nice summer day afternoon cocktail. Thanks so much for this recipe. I will be making it often.

Question… Would love to know where you got the jar with the handle. Love that! This recipe sounds delicious, too. I’m headed to the kitchen right now to try it. Thanks!

I’ll try that recipe for sure, I usually add green stuff but your version has to be more refreshing. BTW, I’ve been looking for those jars with handle. Where can I buy them? They would be perfect for beer.

I tried this today, I doubled the recipe and used canned pineapple. I tried downing a glass at one time but it was really spicey.

I liked it though – I’ve never had a smoothie before.

I used a can of crushed pineapple and then all the juice from that! It worked great! I will be making this again for sure. It topped off a beautiful brunch with my family!
