Many of you longtime followers know that I’m not a big believer in “recipes” when it comes to smoothies. My method of choice is always “a little of this, a little of that”, usually based on whatever fresh produce happens to be hanging around my house.
But a smoothie I made this week happened to be exceptionally tasty. So I decided to snap a quick pic and share it with you all.
It’s basically a simple pineapple smoothie, featuring some healthy Greek yogurt, banana, and my favorite smoothie ingredient — fresh ginger! All in all a delicious, light, and wonderfully fresh tasting citrus smoothie. Feel free to substitute in your favorite citrus fruits, but I happen to be partial to my beloved piña. So pineapple it is for me! Enjoy!!

Love! Thank You Ali, delicious smoothie! I used goat milk kefir instead of the yogurt and raw goats milk instead of water. An absolutely lovely combo…….yummy! Thanks again!
Yay, we’re so happy you enjoyed this Terry, thank you for sharing! :)
What’s the calorie content? Don’t want to use all my calories on one smoothie.

Very yummy! Really liked the added cinnamon .
Thanks Rebecca, we’re glad you liked it!
I made without banana but I added honey and it was so yummy! I don’t like the mix of banana and pineapple, but the mix of pineapple with ginger is so delicious! Thankssssss!
Thanks Luisa, and I bet that honey was lovely in this!
This was fantastic! I needed a good smoothie recipe to help use up the giant bag of ginger I received. I used plain yogurt and it was still amazing! Thank you for this easy smoothie recipe. I will be enjoying it often. I am a huge fan of naturally sweetened smoothies!
This is loaded with sugar. These fruits are high in sugar…so is yogurt How is this healthy

All natural sugar and the ginger helps cut the potency of the sugar
I have been looking for a good smoothie recipe with fresh pineapple and fresh ginger as they are great inflammation fighters for back pain and arthritis, this one looks good. I would like to add turmeric about 1 tablespoon, how would this affect the taste if so how would you alter the recipe to balance it?
Sorry should have been 1 teaspoon turmeric not tablespoon.
Can I use ginger powder instead of fresh ginger? Would I use the same amount?
Hi Steve,
Sure, you can sub in ginger powder. But you’ll want to use WAY less. Usually I estimate 1/4 teaspoon for every 1 Tablespoon of fresh ginger. Enjoy!
~Ali
Thanks for this!!! I’m gonna make it today!
