It’s summertime, and the grillin’ is easy.

Especially when you can cook your food on a stick (or skewer, or kebab, or whatever you want to call them)!

Yes, one of the best things about summer getting to say hello to our grills again, after a long winter of hibernation-mode and dinners of soups and casseroles. I mean, we could have used our grill when it was 40-something degrees out. But let’s be real — summertime is grill-time. There’s nothing quite like firing up the charcoals on a warm day, tossing your favorite proteins and veggies and sides on the grill, and enjoying a nice cold beverage out on the deck alongside good friends while everything cooks. It’s the best. And when it comes to easy entertaining, kebabs are definitely the best way to go. They are quick, they are simple, and they are so tasty and fun.

We’ve found some of the brightest, freshest, most colorful kebab recipes in the food blogosphere that should totally be part of your summer grilling routine. So gather your ingredients, thread them onto some skewers, fire up your grill, and let it do all the work!

  1. This is such a perfect list for summer – pinning!

  2. There is nothing better than food on a stick!

  3. Thanks for this list!  Now I regret not purchasing that skewer kit that I saw at my local thrift store.  I had it in my hand and then put it down.  Shucks.  Maybe they still have it.  I like skewers because the food cooks up fast and it’s easier to monitor portions.  Great inspiration!

    • Thanks, Sandra! I feel like just about every thrift store has one of those kits! haha. But you could totally just get the basic metal skewers they sell in the kitchen gadget section of your grocery store (cheap and easy). : )

  4. What a killer round-up of food on a stick, which happens to be one of our favorite ways to eat all summer long!  Thank you for the shout-out as well.

  5. This past weekend I made kebabs but spelled them kababs because that’s just how it comes out of my mouth. Haha :) Anyway… I made teriyaki pork and pineapple with a dusting of cayenne pepper. Holy smokes; literally. My mouth was on fire! It was so good. Love kebabs (kababs)!

  6. HOLA, MUCHAS GRACIAS POR COMPARTIRNOS ESTAS DELICIOSAS RECETAS.

  7. Ali, Thanks for including my recipe in your round up. I can’t wait to try a few of these tasty recipes myself
