5-Ingredient Pear Pomegranate Salsa
You all know how much I love 5-ingredient recipes.
So when I showed up to small group last weekend and heard my friend, Rachel, mention across the room that she had made a 5-ingredient salsa to share, you’d better believe this food blogger’s ears perked up.
Once I caught sight of it, with all of those vivid colors and seasonal fruits, I was immediately sold. Once I tasted it, I knew I had to share it with you pronto.

Can you guess the 5 ingredient??
The first four ingredients were probably easy to spot — lots of fresh pears, pomegranate seeds, cilantro, red onion, and…lime! The secret ingredient is lime!
It definitely pulls the salsa together and gives it that classic citrusy kick. Rachel also recommends seasoning the salsa with a little salt and pepper, which I agreed was lovely. (And those don’t “count” as ingredients anyway, right??)
Pretty sure our group devoured this salsa that evening. The savory and sweet combo is just irresistible, especially when paired with salty tortilla chips.
Then when I made a second batch this week and shared it with neighbors, they also texted back raving reviews.
I even turned a few of the leftovers into an arugula salad to share with my parents who are in town for a few days. (I also added feta cheese, and topped it with a citrus vinaigrette.) Delish!!
Perfect for dipping, perfect for salad-ing, and definitely perfect for sharing. Thanks, Rachel! :)

5-Ingredient Pear Pomegranate Salsa
This pear pomegranate salsa rocks the savory and sweet combo, and calls for just five ingredients!
Ingredients:
- 2 fresh pears (any kind), cored and diced
- 1 fresh pomegranate, seeded (see my tutorial on how to open and de-seed a pomegranate http://www.gimmesomeoven.com/how-to-open-and-de-seed-a-pomegranate/)
- half a red onion, diced
- 1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro leaves
- juice of half a lime
Directions:
Toss all ingredients together until combined. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
Serve immediately, or store in a sealed container for up to 2 days.
If you make this recipe, be sure to snap a photo and hashtag it #gimmesomeoven. I'd love to see what you cook!

Took this to a get together with a group of girls, they lovesd it. The only thing is I had to make a change and then added a little. Pomegranates were out of season so I cut strawberries into small pieces and added a small apple and a mango. We all loved it! May want to add a little more lime juice for the extra fruit.
Thanks for sharing, and I think strawberries, apple and mango sound like a fabulous combination! : )
